We'll meet at the Miami Waterkeeper office and then walk over to Giralda Plaza together.

About Walter Rodriguez Meyer

Walter Rodriguez Meyer, RLA is an urban designer, educator, and community organizer for climate justice. He is the founder of Local Office Landscape and Urban Design (LOCAL), a minority owned firm based in Brooklyn. LOCAL has garnered accolades from across the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, public policy, science, and art. Walter has taught at Columbia, Pratt, and New School.

Walter’s built works at the scale of the block, city, and bioregion are some of the few examples that have withstood the planet’s most severe atmospheric forces. The performance metrics from his built projects have shaped local and national policy. His work has been published in the NYT, New Yorker Magazine, and other Design Journals - President Obama named Walter a White House Champion of Change.

Important: The walking tour portion of this event will involve light outdoor physical activity. Please dress appropriately for outdoor conditions (hat, sunscreen, water bottle recommended) and wear comfortable walking shoes.
