Samantha Barquin is the Chief Programs Officer at Miami Waterkeeper, where she partners with the science, policy, and education teams to advance resilience and protect South Florida’s watershed. Proudly rooted in Miami, Samantha has grown within the organization since 2020, beginning as an intern and stepping into leadership through her collaborative spirit, strategic insight, and steady guidance.
She holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a Professional Science Master’s in Environmental Policy and Management from Florida International University. A graduate of the Natural Resources Leadership Institute fellowship, Samantha is committed to building bridges across sectors and centering equity in her leadership. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, baking, exploring nature, and spending time with her family.
