Mrs. Schwedel has more than 17 years experience in banking, audit, and finance. She began her career at Chase Federal Bank, and later was recruited by Bank United to become an Internal Auditor. Mrs. Schwedel was later selected by Euro Bank, to serve as the Head of their Internal Audit Department, and worked hand in hand with the United States FDIC on numerous assignments. She received her BA from Florida International University, with a minor in International Business. Maria serves several community organizations that advocate for the environment, families, and children’s causes. Mrs. Schwedel was born in Havana, Cuba, and lives in Coral Gables, FL with her husband, and three children who spend all of their leisure time on, or in the waters surrounding Miami, the Keys, and the Bahamas.
