Maggie Block
Maggie Block is Director of Finance with Miami Waterkeeper. Prior to this she was Director of Finance for the ACLU of Florida in Miami. She joined the ACLU in 2018, after years of providing legal and financial services to non-profits in South Florida.

Maggie graduated from Barry University with a bachelor's degree in social work. She then attended St. Thomas School of Law, earning a Master of Laws in Intercultural Human Rights and a Juris Doctorate. During her time in school, she interned with public interest organizations focusing on homelessness, children with disabilities, and immigration law for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking.

Maggie began her career as a social worker for children with disabilities, managing and evaluating after-school programs throughout Miami. Following law school, she joined St. Thomas University’s Human Trafficking Academy, educating South Florida on warning signs, available services, and the rights of survivors. She practiced law as a staff attorney advocating for children’s rights with Guardian ad Litem. Later, she launched her solo practice, assisting start-up nonprofits with corporate needs, and alongside her partner, provided outsourced CFO services.
