Join Miami Waterkeeper at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park for our 4th Annual Free Our Shores Clean-Up!
Help us remove the excess amounts of trash and debris left behind by the 4th of July celebrations and protect our beautiful shoreline. Enjoy food, refreshments, music, and more as we keep the Independence Day celebrations going and party with a purpose!
This event is proudly hosted in partnership with The International SeaKeepers Society, Coast love, Seaworthy Collective, Geared for Green, and Blue Missions.
Volunteer Day:
Main Task: Removal of marine debris from the shore
This event may involve heavy lifting, so it is best suited for teenagers and adults. If younger children participate, they must be supervised at all times by a guardian or parent. Community Service hours are available!
Important Volunteer Information:

Arrival Time: Please arrive promptly at 9:00 AM. Registration begins 30 minutes prior.

What to Bring:

Refillable water bottle (stay hydrated!)

Closed-toe shoes (required)

Long-sleeved shirts and long pants (recommended, clothes that can get wet)

Hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent (recommended)

Gloves and trash grabbers (if you have them; otherwise, supplies will be provided by Miami Waterkeeper and SeaKeepers)

Weather: The clean-up is weather-dependent. The event will be canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice if severe weather is expected.
