Earth Day 2025

Miami Waterkeeper is proud to co-host our 3rd annual Earth Day Clean-up with Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, BLUE Missions, Ballyhoo Media, The Everglades Foundation, Latino Outdoors, Geared for Green, and PLANTA on Saturday, April 19th from 9am-12pm. Join us for a beach yoga session (led by Latino Outdoors) followed by a marine debris clean-up! We'll have food, refreshments, music, and more! 

Important Volunteer Information

Please be on time as registration begins 30 minutes before the volunteer workday starts. Please arrive at 9:00am. Bring:

• Refillable water bottle. Stay hydrated and be prepared to work outside and in the water.

• PLANTA is generously providing healthy, delicious, and sustainable food for our volunteers! 

• Closed-toe shoes/water shoes are required and long-sleeved shirts are recommended (shorts and clothes that can get wet).

• A hat, sunblock, and insect repellent (recommended).

• Gloves and trash grabbers (if you have them, otherwise the Miami Waterkeeper will provide all supplies).

• The clean-up is weather-dependent and the event will be canceled with at least 24 hours notice if inclement weather is anticipated

•  The event will take place from 9:00am-12:00pm (yoga from 9:30-10:15am, clean-up from 10:30am-12pm) but you are welcome to leave anytime! It will be at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park.  

• Parking is provided free of charge. Let the gate attendant know you are here for a beach clean-up and you will be let in for free.
