Native Planting and Coastal Cleanup- October 15th

This new joint partnership between Miami Waterkeeper and Frost Science's MUVE program gives volunteers the opportunity to restore our habitats in a different way- by planting native plant species in our coastal dune ecosystems!

On Saturday, October 15, 2022, MUVE and Miami Waterkeeper will host small groups of volunteers to enhance the native beach dune habitat and do a citizen science-based coastal cleanup.

Volunteer Day Main Tasks:

  • Planting of native dune plant species
  • Citizen science marine debris clean up using the Clean Swell App (download prior to event!)

This volunteer event may require more intense work, hence teenagers and older groups are recommended. If younger age groups participate, they should be monitored at all times by the designated guardian, parents, etc. *Community Service hours also provided*

Important Volunteer Information:

Please be on time, registration begins 15 minutes before the volunteer workday starts.
