Delivered: June 7, 2017
Tomorrow, June 8th, is World Oceans Day, a day to honor, help protect, and conserve our oceans. This year’s theme is Our Oceans, Our Future, and the focus will be on plastic pollution prevention and cleaning the ocean of marine litter. Your involvement is critical to our oceans and our future, and we invite you to participate by making a gift today to your Miami Waterkeeper.
Your gift is extremely important because it offers immediate resources to keep our water swimmable, drinkable, and fishable for all of us. By donating to Miami Waterkeeper, you help Our City, Our Water and drive local efforts toward this global cause.
Together, we are making great progress. Just last month, with the commitment of friends like you, Miami Waterkeeper helped to pass Florida’s first plastic bag ban! The ordinance goes into effect soon in the City of Coral Gables and will reduce the number of plastic bags persisting in our oceans and harming marine life. You have also helped our ongoing efforts to protect and restore our precious coral reefs from damage caused by dredging and other threats, ultimately safeguarding our bay and shorelines.
We believe small steps add up to remarkable feats. Please take a step today by making a gift, and you’ll continue to defend everyone’s right to use and enjoy clean water.
