International Coastal Clean Up- September 17th

Join Miami Waterkeeper for the world's largest, one-day volunteer effort for our oceans and waterways, and show your commitment to reducing marine debris, along with millions of volunteers from across the globe! 

Spearheaded globally by the Ocean Conservancy, VolunteerCleanup.org organizes Miami-Dade’s local participation in the annual International Coastal event with 45+ simultaneous shoreline cleanups around the county and is made possible by the generous support of our presenting sponsors Covanta and Rickenbacker Marina, with additional support from Blackstone Charitable Foundation, Verizon, Miami-Dade County RER-DERMPubbelly Sushi, and Greenberg Traurig.

Miami Waterkeeper will provide all the supplies required for the event but please remember to wear closed toed-shoes, bring a reusable water bottle and appropriate sun protection! This event is suitable for all ages, however, anyone under the age of 14 will need to be accompanied by an adult. Community Service hours are also provided.

Registration is required to participate. Where possible, please have guests in your party RSVP individually so we can ensure they get all information and details about the event and can accurately plan for turnout.

Complete the online waiver here**If you are under 18 and coming without a parent or guardian, you must have a parent/guardian print and sign the waiver HERE and bring it with you.

Important Volunteer Information:

Please be on time, sign in begins 15 minutes before the volunteer workday starts.

  • Please Bring:

    • Refillable water bottle. Stay hydrated and be prepared to work outside!

    • Closed-toe shoes are required and long-sleeved shirts are and long pants are recommended.

    • A hat, sunblock, and insect repellent (highly recommended). It gets very buggy in the summer so please accordingly! 

    • Gloves you feel comfortable wearing (otherwise Miami Waterkeeper will provide gloves).
