MWK x Diver's Paradise Scuba Clean Up - June 29th

Miami Waterkeeper is proud to join Diver's Paradise for our monthly Scuba Clean Up! Join us in making a difference as we dive into the beautiful waters of Miami to remove debris and help preserve our marine environment. Your participation helps protect the vibrant ecosystems and marine life that call our waters home.

Volunteer Day Main Tasks:

  • Removal of marine debris from the marine ecosystem

This volunteer event requires all participants to have an open-water dive certification! Divers should have also gone diving within the last year and feel comfortable assembling gear, navigating underwater, and monitoring depth and air level. Divers age 10 to 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Divers 16-17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian OR obtain written permission.  *Community Service hours also provided* 

 

Important Volunteer Information:

Please be on time, registration begins at 9:00am!

  • Please Bring:

    • Refillable water bottle. Water refills will be provided on the boat!

    • If you have your own dive gear and wetsuit you are welcome to bring it. Rentals are available for a fee at the dive shop.

    • A hat and sun protection -- If possible, please use reef-safe sunscreen products. 

    • A pair of dive gloves/gardening gloves (Miami Waterkeeper has some gloves that can be borrowed on a first-come first-serve basis).

    • The event is weather-dependent and will be canceled with at least 24 hours' notice if inclement weather is anticipated.

    • The event lasts around 4 hours with an end time of around 2:00pm. Please meet at Diver's Paradise dive shop (4000 Crandon Blvd. Key Biscayne, FL 33149) at 9:00am.

The fee breakdown below:

  • $95 per person for 2 tank dives, including tank and weights. 
  • Gear Rental: (if you don't have your own gear, you'll need to rent it from Diver's Paradise)
    • $50 for all gear (includes regulator, BCD, mask, fins, and snorkel) <---- highly recommend this package!! 
    • $20 for mask, fins, snorkel 
    • $25 for regulator 
    • $20 for BCD 

All of Diver's Paradise's dive trips have a dive professional in the water navigating the site. If you want a private guide, Diver's Paradise may have guides available by request for an additional fee. Please contact Diver's Paradise directly for any inquires regarding diving rentals.

 

Registration fees are due in order to RSVP and refunds will not be issued for no-shows.
