Miami Waterkeeper is seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Director of Operations who is passionate about our mission and desires to support our clean water goals. As a growing organization, we are seeking an individual who thrives in developing and implementing processes and procedures. The Director of Operations should be an expert in database management and financial controls and best practices. Ideally, a candidate would have successfully completed a non-profit organizational audit and be experienced with Quickbooks Online. Candidates with government grant management and budgeting experience are preferred. Some human resources experience would be ideal. This position will be a key team member to lead our organization’s operations, including financial, compliance, record-keeping, human resources, and grant budget management. We are looking for an individual who can take initiative, has a high sense of urgency, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep commitment to their work to join our dynamic team.

Human Resources
- Benefits research, implementation, and tracking
- Contract review and tracking
- Review and ensure insurance coverage current and comprehensive
- Writing and implementing policies
Financial Management
- Budget development and tracking
- Bookkeeping review
- Bank Account Management
- Financial report and audit preparation
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and best practices
- Provide data for internal development reviews and budget projects
- Prepare for the annual form 990 submission
- Payroll review
- Pay and track invoices
- Process and track reimbursements
- Support board finance committee meetings
Grant/Contract Management
- Reporting
- Budget preparation and tracking
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years Quickbooks Online experience
- 2+ years Grant management experience preferred
- 2+ years Human resources experience preferred
- 3+ years Financial oversight and preparation experience
SALARY RANGE
$65,000-80,000
