In August, the beautiful Biscayne Bay so many of us have enjoyed and taken for granted experienced a marine kill off followed by an algae bloom breakout North of the 36 Street causeway. Besides the increased heat in the atmosphere, nutrient water pollution appears to be the main factor for Miami’s beautiful bay flashing warning signs of the potential loss of a vibrant, healthy, biodiverse bay. Gratefully, we have non-governmental organizations advocating and doing their best to protect Miami’s waterways on behalf of the public:
