POSITION SUMMARY

Miami Waterkeeper, a champion for clean water solutions in South Florida, is seeking a talented Full-Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. As a crucial member reporting to the Chief Technology and Marketing Officer, you will play a pivotal role in creating seamless digital experiences that are aligned with our mission of protecting South Florida's waters. As someone who is experienced at architecting and maintaining technology blueprints that deliver experiences for diverse end-user audiences you will help to facilitate the delivery of Miami Waterkeeper’s 2024 technical roadmap. The work that you do will support teams including (not limited to) Marketing, Finance, Operations, Development, Policy, and Research and Education. Past hands-on experience delivering for one or more of these teams is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Designing and delivering seamless interfaces, you will thrive in a day-to-day that is varied and requires you to stretch your skills and abilities, as you integrate front-end and back-end technologies to ensure world-class digital experiences.

Development Operations (DevOps)

Improving collaboration and communication across teams, the full-stack developer will:

  • Create and maintain CI/CD, including writing and integrating code into a shared repository and running automated tests to detect and fix issues
  • Focus on automation and consistency across varied application environments, product builds and infrastructure tasks; audit current-state, advise future-state

AI Integration and Optimization

As MWK advances its capabilities and embraces the importance of AI, you will:

  • Implement APIs for data pipelines and connecting with AI services such as image recognition, natural language processing, recommendation engines and chat bots
  • Ensure communication between components, set benchmarks to monitor performance and quality
  • Set up the infrastructure for, and securely manage and process large data sets to support AI functionalities, including setting up and optimizing databases and storage solutions.
  • Bring a performance mindset: continually optimize (infrastructure and algorithmic speed, utilization, accuracy, scalability, etc.)

Marketing and Business Support

In addition to technical aspects, the full-stack developer will:

  • Create, update, integrate, and migrate marketing technologies, such as the website (content management solution), the customer relationship management (CRM) platform, and finance and ancillary platforms
  • Be accountable for MWK’s digital assets: a data-driven approach to creating user-friendly, visually appealing, and ADA compliant experiences
  • Ensure responsive design for optimal cross-device and cross-browser experiences; employ a user journey mindset
  • Implement marketing automation tools and techniques for lead generation and nurturing, including eNews and event marketing
  • Deliver analytics and reporting systems (business intelligence). This includes overseeing the URL and Title Tag strategy, implementing tracking codes, and being the lead for analytics/reporting environments and data visualization tools

Security Operations (SecOps) and Compliance

Ensuring compliance with modern and relevant standards, you will:

  • Ensure privacy-preserving features and cookie banner implementations
  • Deliver work that meets the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508

General

  • Develop “how to” guides, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) 
  • Define and deliver requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Be an adept project manager (Agile, KanBan, or Sprints required)
  • Management of vendors and third parties, including hosting and databases

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science technology or engineering, and 5+ years industry experience, or equivalent professional/industry with certifications
  • Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (HTML, CSS, Javascript, React)
  • Knowledge of back-end languages and libraries (Python, R, C#, PHP)
  • Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL and NoSQL)
  • RESTful API design and implementation (Postman, Swagger, or Apigee)
  • Exposure to code versioning and repository tools such as GitHub and BitBucket

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or AWS experience will set you apart
  • Data unification and reporting are highly desirable: social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn), CRM, CMS, and Google Analytics (Google Tag Manager exposure is well regarded)
  • Data visualization creation (Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker)
  • CRM deployment experience. NationBuilder and Microsoft Dynamics a plus
  • Experience with prototyping/wireframing tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Canva)

LOCATION

US-based remote considered (reporting to Miami, Florida).

SALARY RANGE

$70,000 - $90,000 (full-time)
