Water is what makes Miami, Miami.
The impact of our partnership program is two-fold. First, we are able to protect the water we love through financial support of high-impact programs. Secondly, unique collaborations allow us to create even more ambassadors for the water we love.
We are thrilled to share stories about our partners. We have corporate, governmental, and foundation partners -- all of whom are committed to protecting Biscayne Bay and the watersheds of Miami.
For example, we hosted Microsoft and their Cities Impact team for an educational boat tour of Biscayne Bay as part of our Day on the Bay program<LINK>. With attendees from across the US, the team learned how some of the issues we face today in Miami will likely affect their geographic areas in the coming years.
With support from NOAA, we have become their local partners on the Biscayne Bay Habitat Focus Area grant, working to reduce algae blooms by hosting Day on the Bay events, passing fertilizer ordinances, and developing educational materials.
Our Patagonia partners have been key in supporting our work championing the protection of threatened corals during Port of Miami dredging projects for several years, which resulted in thousands of corals restored and $14 million of value to the public.
Miami Waterkeeper has created customized programs that utilize scientific principles and best practices in environmental education to meet the needs of our corporate, governmental, and foundation partners. We are honored that they have chosen Miami Waterkeeper as a key partner.
