Join us for a Coral-Focused State of the Water 2024
An evening of coral, conservation, and climate action in Miami!
Join Miami Waterkeeper for an illuminating evening at their annual State of the Water event, where conservation meets innovation. Delve into the future of coral technology during our reception, showcasing cutting-edge projects like NOAA's Sequential Treatment Application Robot (STAR) System, immersive Virtual Reality experiences by Rescue a Reef, and revolutionary 3D Printed Corals with the X-Reefs Project from the University of Miami’s Coral Reef Futures Lab.
A State of the Water address will be given by coral expert and Miami Waterkeeper's Executive Director and Waterkeeper, Rachel Silverstein Ph.D., followed by a riveting panel discussion moderated by Dr. Silverstein, delving deep into the crucial topics of coastal resiliency, climate change threats, and the power of storytelling in environmental advocacy. Our esteemed panelists, including Professor Andrew Baker (Professor of Marine Biology and Ecology, University of Miami), Ian Enochs, Ph.D. (AOML Program Lead, NOAA), and Tori Linder (Conservationist and Impact Producer), will share their insights and strategies for restoring our reefs and igniting action. Don't miss poignant moments such as the Porter Prize presentation, which honors leaders in conservation and, this year, will be presented by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava to WPLG Local 10 Anchor and Environmental Advocate, Louis Aguirre.
Join us in shaping the future of our oceans and coastal communities.

Miami Waterkeeper launched the PartnerSHIP program to recognize and engage our most dedicated supporters. Members of the PartnerSHIP crew receive sponsorship recognition for State of the Water, along with recognition as a key supporter of clean water throughout the year. The PartnerSHIP enables us to monitor and share information about water quality on a weekly basis, conduct novel scientific research, investigate policy proposals and compliance, litigate against polluters, and educate the community through targeted outreach, education, and volunteer engagement. Members of the PartnerSHIP crew also enable the Miami Waterkeeper team to respond to crises and quickly pivot to incorporate emerging science into our work.
