Miami Waterkeeper Receives Perez Family Foundation Grant

We are excited to announce that Miami Waterkeeper has been selected as a grant recipient by The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation at The Miami Foundation. The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation is the philanthropic vision of Jorge M. Pérez, chairman and CEO of The Related Group, and his family, is to develop South Florida as an exemplary world-class urban center.

With the generous support of The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation at The Miami Foundation, we will continue to expand our 1,000 Eyes on the Water program. This program offers free community workshops to train individuals on how to identify, document, and report pollution they see in their neighborhoods with the objective of creating more water watchdogs in Miami!

Specifically, this grant will support the development of a mobile application for pollution reporting. It will also allow us to create online learning materials and modules to increase the reach of the program to online participants. Finally, the grant will support additional Spanish language outreach both digitally and with in-person trainings.

We look forward to another year of partnership with the Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation and to furthering our mission of swimmable, drinkable, fishable water for all in South Florida.
