Dr. Silverstein Presents at Cambridge University's Environmental Crime Workshop

Our Executive Director and Waterkeeper, Dr. Rachel Silverstein, presented at Cambridge University's 38th International Symposium on Economic Crime on September 6, 2021. Her presentation, titled “A Dredgeful Situation,” focused on the harm to corals during the PortMiami dredging project.  Read more about the project here

Dr. Silverstein presented alongside a number of experts on environmental crime. The workshop was chaired by former Miami-Dade County Judge Bonnie Rippingille and included panelists such as Stacey Geis, Managing Attorney at Earth Justice; Davyth Stewart, former Coordinator at Interpol’s Environmental Security Programme; Criminology Professor Tanya Wyatt from Northumbria University in the UK; and Michelle Chan, Vice President of Programs at Friends of the Earth.
