Miami Waterkeeper (MWK) works to ensure swimmable, drinkable, fishable water in South Florida for all. As a Miami-based 501 c(3)are dedicated to protecting Biscayne Bay and the surrounding watershed through citizen involvement and community action, educating people about the fragility and importance of the water to our local ecology, culture, and economy. We work to empower citizens to take an active role in our community’s environmental decision-making. Through our work, we hope to ensure a clean and vibrant South Florida watershed and coastal culture for generations to come. We use education, community outreach, and legal advocacy to achieve 1) ecosystem and habitat conservation and restoration, 2) clean water protection, and 3) sea level rise resilience. We are a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, an internationally recognized, citizen-led alliance for clean water worldwide.
