Maria Briz is a graduate student at Florida International University pursuing a Professional
Science Master’s in Environmental Policy and Management.
Maria graduated from FIU with a B.A. in Sustainability and the Environment, a B.A. in Anthropology/Sociology, and
Undergraduate Certificates in Agro-ecology, Biodiversity Conservation, and Spiritual Studies. As
an undergraduate student, Maria focused on sustainable farming, on restoring and creating
natural habitats around South Florida and on shark conservation. Maria’s goal is to educate
people about environmental issues, to work with environmental policy and to pursue her passion
in exploring the complex relationship humans have with their environment.
