My name is Irene Vailikit and I’m a Miami Native. Ropa vieja is my soul food and I’m passionate about celebrating Miami as a vibrant cultural and entrepreneurial metropolis. I love talking about and sharing what our city has to offer. Promoting Miami’s strengths and working with others to address its challenges is part of my career as someone who recruits and onboards new teachers in Miami-Dade County.
I’d like to participate in the Miami Waterkeeper Team because our water is the most valuable resource on our planet. It’s our responsibility to ensure that it is sustainably used and that our water-dependent ecosystems are cared for. Also, it seemed more fun to walk as part of a team than run the race by myself!
