My name is Carlos Miguel Gaviria. I joined this challenge because Andrew Otazo is not only a dear friend, but he is also an inspiration. I have always had a natural connection to and appreciation of nature, however Andrew leading by example, has inspired me to not only cultivate a deeper appreciation of nature, but more importantly, become more conscious of the challenges facing the local environment and the actions we can take to help. The idea of pushing a 100 pound cart across the entire Miami Marathon spoke to me personally… despite never having completed more than a 5 mile run I quickly volunteered when Andrew shared the idea. This would challenge the limits of my physical possibilities, help raise awareness for this important cause, and raise funds for Miami Watekeeper, an all around win!
