Current Law & MPS Student

Brett Brumund
Brett is a law student at University of Miami School of Law and a graduate student at UM's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science where he studies coastal zone management.

As an undergraduate at UM, Brett graduated with a B.A. in Marine Affairs & Policy and International Studies. Also as an undergraduate he worked at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center as a naturalist where he gave educational and interactive programs on the local coastal ecosystem. Brett has always been fascinated by the environment, particularly the ocean. He grew up near Virginia Beach, VA where he was lucky enough to spend plenty of time both in the water and learning about ways to protect it. In Miami, he was excited to find a vibrant environmental community, including Miami Waterkeeper, that is dedicated to protecting the beautiful South Florida environment. In the future, Brett hopes to practice environmental law and work to help protect sensitive coastal environments.
