Originally from the Philadelphia area, Addy recently moved to Miami to pursue her master’s degree in marine biology. Her research involves reversing ocean acidification and increasing oceanic carbon capture with the use of alkaline minerals. When she isn’t in the lab, Addy enjoys getting out in the community to participate in beach clean-ups and citizen science projects. She also is an avid scuba diver who frequents the beautiful reefs in Miami and the Florida Keys. Since starting at Miami Waterkeeper in June of 2022, Addy has been able to utilize her background in education, her love for the environment, and her enthusiasm for science to aid in outreach programing.
