Camilla was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Even though she attended land-locked University of North Texas for her undergraduate degree in biology, she knew the field of coastal and marine biology was where she was meant to be.
Camilla was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Even though she attended land-locked University of North Texas for her undergraduate degree in biology, she knew the field of coastal and marine biology was where she was meant to be. After graduating, she worked and traveled in the Caribbean and Central America trying out different aspects of the conservation field. Her experience led her to pursue a Master of Professional Science at the University of Miami, with a focus on marine conservation. As she finishes her master's degree, she hopes to find a career at the intersection of research and outreach with a special interest in how media can enhance the bridge between these two fields.
