Miami Waterkeeper receives $49,000 Donation in partnership with Whole Foods Market and Top Chef Jeremy Ford

Miami Waterkeeper receives $49,000 donation from Whole Foods Market 5% day and Sustainable Evening event!

Top Chef Jeremy Ford and Whole Foods Market Miami teamed up for a benefit dinner in support of Miami Waterkeeper and to highlight the Whole Foods Market 5% Day initiative at all Miami stores.

The sustainable evening brought together environmentally conscious community members and highlighted the work of Miami Waterkeeper for clean water in South Florida.

Chef Ford curated a menu highlighting local seafood and spring vegetables, showcasing high quality, seasonal, and fresh ingredients from Whole Foods Market for this sustainable evening. Menu items included local red snapper ceviche, endive and snap pea salad, and seared MSC certified halibut with English peas.

The dinner was hosted in an innovative LEED certified home in Coconut Grove, presented by Grove Properties (4045 Bonita Ave). The sustainability features of the home were on display for guests, including recycled styrofoam baseboards, steel construction, reclaimed wood, and much more!

The following day, all Whole Foods Market locations in Miami teamed up to support Miami Waterkeeper through 5% Day, in which 5% of the day's sales were donated to support Miami Waterkeeper.

In total, over $49,000 was raised for this local organization with the sponsorship of Whole Foods Market, Chef Jeremy Ford, Grove Properties, and the outstanding and involved community in Miami.
